The Hungarian-owned ABO GROUP, founded in 1993, is one of the most notable milling companies in Eastern Hungary and Western Romania. Their sites are located in Nyíregyháza, Tiszafüred, Kondoros, Satu Mare, and Nagymajtény. In addition to milling services, the company also plays a significant role in feed production. Since 1999, they have been breeding over 38.000 porker pigs that they also receive first-hand feedback on the quality of the feed produced from.

The company’s main activity is mass production of flour for industrial use. Their milling products are now available in standard, gluten-free, and in other whole wheat and healthy versions.

While complying with strict food industry standards and regulations, applied technologies and operational services of the plant are continuously improved and modernized in areas of milling, feed production, and pig farming.

In addition to processing wheat, they also procure wheat, triticale, barley, and maize, offer storage and drying of crops depending on their available capacity, and also rent out their sites and land out of use.

Traditional grain products

The traditional product line consists of all purpose wheat flour, pastry flour, bread flour, and semolina. Traditional flour products can be used for a variety of applications, meaning that every commercial kitchen can find the type they need for their specific application, whether it be for baking bread, making cakes, thickening or making dough.

Gluten-free grain products

Nowadays, celiac disease, also known as gluten intolerance, is increasingly common among consumers. ABO Holding offers a solution to this problem with its gluten-free product line. However, cornmeal and semolina are not only recommended for people with celiac disease, but also for both consumers looking for healthy alternatives.

Grain products for alternative diets

Alternative diets are not just about fashion, they’re about reforming our diets and making our food choices healthier. With this motto in mind, ABO Holding has created an entire product line that fits alternative diets. Whole wheat flour, Graham wheat flour, wheat germ, and wheat bran are recommended for weight control, but the benefits of delayed carbohydrate absorption can be enjoyed by anyone, not just for those on a diet.

Flours and grains for professionals

ABO Holding offers commercial flours to bakeries, confectioners, biscuit manufacturers, the pasta industry, pizzerias and restaurants. In addition to usual and proven recipes, they also produce high-quality products to meet specific, special requirements, under strict food industry standards, whether it is semi-white wheat bread flour, a special pizza or pasta flour blend or pastry flour.

Feed production

Feed production is carried out in two feed-mills, taking the latest trends and customers’ needs into account. They produce feed, concentrates, premixes, supplements and complementary feeds for all types of livestock, whether they are kept on the farm or intensively. Their products include feed for poultry, pigs, sheep, rabbits, and cattle as well as concentrates, raw material for feed and supplements. They are offered in bulk, bagged, 5 kg packs in crumbled and granulated form.

Pig farming

ABO Holding also engages in pig farming. The Nagymajtény pig farm has been owned by the company since 1999, where it breeds hybrid quadruple pigs according to market requirements, breeding over 38.000 porkers annually. They are constantly striving to develop their technologies further and to continue breeding and rearing pigs and F1 gilts, in compliance with animal welfare and environmental standards.
